Overview
Web browsers (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) store temporary data to help websites load faster. Occasionally, this data becomes corrupted or outdated, causing websites to load improperly, display errors, or freeze. This article provides steps to resolve the most common browser-related issues.
Symptoms
- Webpages loading incorrectly or with broken formatting
- Persistent login loops or blank pages
- Slow performance or browser crashes
- "Your connection is not private" or other error messages
- Updated content not appearing on a website
Troubleshooting Steps
1. Perform a Hard Refresh (Force Refresh)
Sometimes, your browser shows an old version of a page.
- Windows (Chrome/Edge/Firefox): Press
Ctrl+F5orCtrl+Shift+R - Mac (Safari/Chrome/Firefox): Press
Cmd+Shift+R
2. Try Incognito or Private Mode
This disables extensions and uses a fresh session, helping to determine if a browser extension (like an ad blocker) is causing the issue.
- Chrome/Edge:
Ctrl+Shift+N(Windows) orCmd+Shift+N(Mac) - Firefox/Safari:
Ctrl+Shift+P(Windows) orCmd+Shift+P(Mac)
If the site works in private mode, an extension is likely causing the problem.

- Go to
Menu(three dots) >History>Clear browsing data - Set Time Range to All Time.
- Check "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files".

4. Update Your Browser
Outdated browsers may not support modern website functionality, leading to errors. Check your browser settings to ensure you are running the latest version.
5. Disable Extensions
Sometimes, ad-blockers or security extensions interfere with websites.
- Navigate to your browser's extensions/addons menu.
- Turn off all extensions.
- Restart the browser and check if the site works.
6. Try a Different Browser
If the issue persists, try accessing the resource using a different browser (e.g., switch from Safari to Chrome).
